Goldwin E. Anderson collected news clippings of events and people in Chicago’s Austin community for a period of two years. The events depicted in the notebooks mainly cover the activities of Austin social clubs and prominent Austinites. While this is a small collection, it does offer researchers a two-year compilation of Austin’s noteworthy events and people.

The original arrangement of the notebooks has been maintained. They have been removed from their original bindings and placed in acid free folders.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The collection was transferred from Chicago Public Library’s Austin Branch in November 1984, funded by a Dr. Scholl Foundation Grant.
